Festival

Professional theaters of any form of ownership are invited to participate in the festival, who have performed a classical play or staged a classic literary work.

Applications are accepted until March 1, 2019.

International Theater Festival "Classic Today"

Professional theaters are involved in the festival, which put a classic play or classical literary works.
The organizers of the festival provide hotel accommodation for participants, three meals a day for participation (or pay of daily allowance for the period of participation in the festival). Participants pay for themselves : transit, transportation of scenery, visa application.
Application for participation must be sent by March 1, 2019.

International Theater Festival "Classic Today"
The idea to organize a festival of performances , the develop of concept, goals and objectives, owned to the art director of the theater Sergei Chulkov and the chef of the literary part Lyudmila Kostenko.
Theaters from the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporozhye, Krivoy Rog took part in the first festival. It was held in 1993. The first experience was successful. It was decided to make the festival permanent.
The festival acquired the status of an all-Ukrainian in 1995.
In 1997 the Festival was recognized as a state by an Order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. It has become International in 1999.
Unlike many other festivals, "Classic Today" from the beginning has a competitive nature. International Jury, which consist of leading specialists in drama study, directors, actors. They determine the best of performances, directions, a major female and male roles, female and male roles of second lead, the best young actor and actress of the festival.
After the show, the participants of the performance (upon request) meet with the jury. Their creative work receives a professional evaluation. The festival includes conferences, seminars, master classes and exhibitions.
Winners in the nominations are awarded diplomas, valuable gifts and a figurine - a symbol of the festival, it was created by the famous sculptor Garnik Khachatryan.
